Hello! I’m Shabaritha Rai – lovingly called Ritu by many of my students. My yoga journey began at the age of 10, not in a studio, but through simple school practices starting with basic Suryanamaskar.
As a sports-loving child, I naturally connected with movement, and yoga became my path when life asked me to step away from athletics. What started as a basic routine turned into a lifelong passion, one that has grown and evolved with me over the years.
My Yoga Path:
From early school days to college dorms, from surviving illness to managing a career, yoga remained a constant in my life. I pursued my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in the serene mountains of North India at age 23 – combining travel, self-discovery, and deepened practice.
Over time, I studied various styles including:
-
Hatha Yoga
-
Ashtanga Vinyasa
-
Iyengar Yoga (trained under a direct student of Usha Devi, a disciple of B.K.S. Iyengar)
-
Restorative & Meditation-based practices
I blend these traditions into a balanced, flexible, and intuitive practice, offering a fusion that adapts to real-life rhythms – whether you're a working professional, a parent, or a curious explorer of the self.
